Kids Writing Workshops – This Fall

A heads up for those who inquired earlier: I’m doing another set of kids writing workshops this fall. The series of four classes will take place at the North York Central Library in Toronto, every Saturday from November 5th to November 26th, from 2pm to 3:30pm. It’s open to kids aged 10-12. And it’s totally free!

The workshops take kids through all the steps of writing a short story: how to craft beginnings, middles, and ends; how to revise their stories to make them even better; and how to share their work with others and give positive feedback. In the last class, everyone receives a printed anthology of the stories they wrote. Because they’ll be working on the same story across the workshops, it’s important that participants attend every class. (If that’s impossible for someone, I will work around it, but I may not be able to include those stories in the anthology.)

No previous story-writing experience required. All we need is enthusiasm! 🙂

Registration hasn’t yet started, but I’ll post here when it has, or keep an eye on the library website. If you know Toronto area parents with kids interested in writing, feel free to pass this info on.
