The first song on Give Up the Ghost‘s unofficial soundtrack to have an actual music video!

I’ve always found Natalie Imbruglia’s “Smoke” to be a haunting song, a mood which suits a book about ghosts don’t you think?

Listening to it makes me think of broken families and difficult relationships, and all the additional hurt that comes when people are refusing to deal with or even acknowledge the painful things that have happened. Which could apply to both Cass’s situation and Tim’s, and I think the lyrics can fit either character.
