Ghost<\/i> had a bit of an awkward time of it from the start. While it got great feedback from fellow authors (Justine Larbalestier called it “a beautiful and moving debut”) and industry reviewers<\/a>, it was also a paranormal YA novel that had no romance coming out on the heels of the Twilight<\/i> series, and a ghost story that’s more about the emotional concerns of the living than supernatural hauntings. But I’m still very fond of it, and there are many readers who’ve connected with it, which makes me hope it’ll find more.
