A most excellent weekend

I’d have to say this past weekend was a pretty spectacular one. Why?

1) Darklit Fest on Saturday was super fun–discussing YA lit with Kelley Armstrong, Rob Weston, and Joel Sutherland (who also did an amazing job organizing the whole event), meeting various writers and readers and sending copies of GHOST off with several of them. Can’t wait to do it again next year!

2) On Sunday I got to see Cirque du Soleil live for the first time. Wow! I expected breath-taking performances and beautiful music, and got even more of that than I anticipated, but I didn’t expect to also be laughing so hard I cried at some of the clowns’ antics.

3) On my way home that evening, I got an e-mail letting me know a spot opened up for me at Kindling Words East. Which means I’m going to get to meet and learn from E. Lockhart, who is one of my favorite YA authors of all time! Woohoo!

I have been happy-dancing inside (and a little bit on the outside, too) ever since. 😀

Hope you all had awesome weekends too!
