Hey all–and particularly Ontario folks! You remember that awesome YA Apocalypse Tour that happened last month with me, Leah Bobet, Lesley Livingston, Maureen McGowan, Cheryl Rainfield, and Courtney Summers? Well, we’re counting on the 2012 apocalypse not happening after all, and are starting to talk about a reunion tour celebrating our survival in the new year.
And since those talks are just getting started, we have quite a bit of flexibility still!
We’re up for traveling pretty much anywhere within about two hours’ drive of Toronto. And we want to meet as many of you Ontario YA readers as possible. So please comment and let me know if there are specific towns or cities where you’d be able to come. Wherever the most people are eager to see us, we’ll do our best to go.
Hope I’ll be seeing you soon!
PLEASE come to Stoney Creek Indigo!!
Definitely a possibility! If we had an event in Hamilton or Burlington instead, would you be able to make it there?
London, please!! (South London Chapters seems to have more YA events). Avery and I would love to come out and see you guys. =)
YES! WE WOULD! And I’m sure that Sarah at Addicted to Reading would as well!
Awesome! I could definitely see us coming by London. I’ll add that to the list of cities to suggest. 🙂
I would absolutely love if you could come as close to Ottawa as possible! I know the city itself is 4ish hours from Toronto, so it might be a little far, but if you could come at all close, it would be wonderful! We’re in desperate need of some YA author love and you guys would be perfect! I know there are a bunch of Ottawa bloggers who would love for you guys to come 🙂
YES. Please come to Ottawa! (We are rather north… but there are a ton of good book lovers here!)
Talking with the other authors about this, but if it turns out not to be doable, would you be able to make it if we had an event in Kingston as Chrystal suggests?
If Ottawa is too far, what about Kingston? It’s halfway between Ottawa and Toronto? We have a Chapters and an Indigo and some awesome indie bookstores. 🙂
We’d love to come out there, it’s just a question of finances! We’re totally funding the tour ourselves, and getting out to Ottawa requires either flying to and from or staying overnight. But since it seems there’s a lot of interest, we’ll definitely discuss it and see if it might be possible at least for a few of us to get up there.
If it turns out we can’t, do you think many/any of you would be able to make it to Kingston, which Chrystal has suggested as a possible halfway point?
If Ottawa turns out to not be an option for you guys, I can do my best to get to Kingston. As a car-less, full-time student it’s not easy to travel for book events, unfortunately, so I really can’t say if I could actually make it, but as long as it’s a weekend stop I can do my best. Thank you very much for trying to come close! 🙂
Also being car-less, I totally understand! I will really try to figure out a way to get us right to Ottawa, since there are so many enthusiastic people there. 🙂
Hi again, I was curious; do you gals have an approximate timeline for this reunion tour or is that something you’re still working out?
It’ll probably happen in March, maybe going into April. 🙂 And I can report that things are looking good for at least a few of us making it to Ottawa, though that’s not confirmed yet.
Ooh that’s really great (even if tentative) news! 🙂 And this will be after The Lives We Lost is released, then? That’s also great news!
How a lovely drive to Creemore? I’ve got three high schools of kids within 20 min who would love some YA love …
Definitely doable, but it looks like the closest Chapters is in Barrie, and we already did a stop there in November. If you’re thinking more along the line of school or library events, or if there’s an enthusiastic indie up there that would get the kids involved, we’d be happy to discuss that–let me know!
I know you guys did Toronto already…but any chance of a downtown Toronto appearance?
How downtown would it need to be? We’ve gotten some interest from the Runnymede Chapters, which is in the west end but right on the subway line.
I second what Jessica R said! I know it’s farther than 2 hours, but we never get events here and there’s lots of us that will go! I managed to make to the Belleville stop, but it’s hard to drive so far, so often. Ottawa would be a great place to hold an event!
Repeating what I said to Jessica:

Sudbury never gets to host events! From time to time, we get local authors but that’s it. I know it’s 4 hours away from Toronto but maybe you can make an exception?
We’d be happy to travel farther, it’s just a question of finances. We’re totally funding the tour ourselves, and going more than a few hours from Toronto (where most of us live) makes it impossible to do as a day trip, which makes it a lot more expensive.
Is there maybe somewhere between Toronto and Sudbury that you could get to and meet us halfway? 🙂
Barrie would be the only halfway point that I can think of… I was unable to attend the stop in November.
OTTAWA!!!

I’d love it if the tour came to Chapters Oshawa, since it’s the closest location for me… Although, another Toronto event would be nice too since it’s still within a reasonable distance to travel (and I missed your Yorkdale event last time).
We’re actually already discussing doing a stop in Oshawa! We were supposed to in November but the schedule had to be shifted because most of us were attending World Fantasy Con, and we ended up having to drop that one. So hopefully we will get out there this time!
I second what Ciara and Jessica R say. Ottawa is a little further but it would attract a major crowd!
