Award nomination!

As it went public yesterday, I can now reveal some news I’ve been itching to share since I found out a couple weeks ago: The Way We Fall has been nominated for the White Pine award, as part of the Ontario Library Association’s Forest of Reading program!

What I didn’t find out a couple weeks ago was who else had been nominated. I’m so pleased to see Toronto KidLit friends Lena Coakley and Mahtab Narisham on the lists (for White Pine and Red Maple, respectively), as well as two writers I’ve gotten to talk with here at WordFest, Cyndi Sand-Eveland and Shane Peacock (Silver Birch and Red Maple).

If you don’t already know, one of the things that makes this program so great is that the kids and teens themselves get to vote on which of the nominated books wins. The power is in your hands, readers! 🙂 If you’re interested in finding out more, or getting your school or library involved, you can find more info as well as the full nominations lists on the Forest of Reading website.

Woohoo!

  1. Hey Megan, congrats!!!!
Also, so sorry I didn’t get ahold of you on Friday. I was running around like crazy with last minute things, as I should have realized I would be doing.

I enjoyed briefly meeting you and loved your presentation.

    • Thanks for the congrats! And no worries — I’m sorry we didn’t get to hang out more, but I totally understand the chaos around a launch party. 🙂 Glad we did get to meet for that short time, and hopefully we’ll be in the same city and less busy another time!
